As with all the visible fluorescent proteins (VFPs), DsRed and its variants are a popular protein label and marker of gene expression. DsRed is a tetrameric protein composed of monomers of ~25 kDa mass. µCP was used to immobilize DsRed onto a surface-treated surf. (Scale bar: 20µm) |
